Baptism of Emma Ann Davison

By Angela Simek

With great joy the whole parish community of St. Hilda’s Whitby was able to welcome Emma Anne Davison into their midst and into the Church through the sacrament of baptism.  Emma, a lively four year old, was baptised during mass on Sunday 11th February 2024, following everything with interest and remarkable patience.

Fittingly for a baptism on this day, the water used for her baptism had come from Lourdes. As chaplain to the diocesan pilgrimage Fr. Pat Keogh, our parish priest, who baptised her is a regular visitor to Lourdes.

Her parents, Sarah and Adokiye, will be received into the Church at Easter and are at present receiving instruction from Fr. Michael and Jeanne from Madonna House in Robin Hood’s Bay – who are also godparents to little Emma.

We at St. Hilda’s are delighted to be sharing this stage of their spiritual journey with them all and our prayers continue to accompany them.
